The Kerry School of
Irish Dance was established in Jan 2001 by Michelle Tebbutt and is
based in Northampton UK The School is open to
all children of all ages and abilities. We hold 2 classes each
week based in Wootton Northampton We currently have
dancers from the age of 5 up to the senior dancers whose ages
range up to 24. We take part in
Feisanna every month and belong to the association CAID. As well as open Feis we
also have annual class feis and take part in many exhibitions and
displays. Once a year we have our
Annual National Championships which take place in November and are
usually held over a full weekend at a Holiday Park resort. This is
a massive affair with schools taking part from all over the globe. We also have a troupe
of dancers that perform on the stage and our first show “Kicking
up a storm” raised the roof at The Spinney Hill Theatre here in
Northampton. We are constantly looking for talented dancers to
join the troupe. Traditional Irish step
Dancing is the main priority but we also like to add the modern
aspect when taking part in shows, displays etc. The principal Teacher
is a qualified first aider and certificates are available on
request. The school promotes
Irish Step Dancing and encourages all pupils to be friendly and
work together as a team. .
